If you will remember while a teen in Jacksonville I helped promote music. So when I returned to Jacksonville with my Masters Degree in Public Relations in 1973 I decided to try my hand at being a music promoter.
I found an interesting band in Jacksonville that I decided needed my expertise. It was a four piece group with a “Cougar Grannie” as the drummer and her 20s something BOYFRIEND as the lead! This was way before “Cougars” were even created! Actually Grannie was a HOT grandma!
I went to a college entertainment booking expo in New Orleans with my Mom to promote them and that is where I met the Original Marlboro Man and became his promoter putting my music promotions business on hold until I moved to HOTLANTA in 1978! Sadly my “pal” Bill Thourlby, the Original Marlboro Man and dress consultant to four US Presidents passed away at 89 years young last summer.
